Avcon Industries is the global “Go-To” facility for Aerial Photographic and Mapping Solutions. Avcon solutions include aircraft installation of provisions for legacy and state-of-the-art cameras, LIDAR, Electro-Optics / Infrared – EO/IR sensors, among many other requested items.
Our provisions include the Multi-Mission Modular POD, single or dual camera EO/IR & LIDAR installations with custom mission consoles, custom retract mechanisms for sensors, and complete Aerial Surveillance Platforms.
Avcon Industries designed its Multi-Mission Modular POD to conveniently install to the fuselage belly of the airplane. The custom POD is ideal for general aerial mapping and photography. Avcon Multi-Mission POD configurations optimize ISR Missions with capability to carry custom combinations of LIDAR/Hyperspectral sensors, Camera equipment, EO/IR, GMTI and IR/UV Scanning equipment. The Avcon POD also has Drop Hatch and sensor retract capabilities. With Avcon custom fabrication and engineering provisions, the Multi-Mission Pod can be designed for enhanced transmissivity using e-glass.
The Avcon Multi-Mission POD is currently STC approved for installation on the King Air. Other aircraft installations are planned.
Avcon Industries is a one-stop ISR (Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance) Completion Facility. Along with aircraft structural modifications, Avcon offers electronics integration services, from design engineering, both power and signal generation, to custom display operations. Avcon works with sensor vendors worldwide to provide cost-effective and timely aircraft electronics integration solutions.
Avcon integration services span from basic camera installations to complex avionics, such as down-link audio/video and communications integrations. Avionics installations include both military and commercial equipment.
Avcon Industries offers a number of Federal Aviation Administration – approved hard point mounting options on Learjets. The Avcon offerings include both wing-mounted and fuselage mounted hard points for the Learjet Model 35/35A/36/36A airplanes. Wing-mounted hardpoints are now available for the Learjet Model 60.
Along with the hard points, Avcon offers a number of custom-designed and integrated external stores, wire tunnels, custom fairings and radomes. These stores range from housing cameras/sensors to target towing / reeling machines.
The Avcon Air Ambulance / Baggage Door is installed immediately behind the existing Airstair door and expands the total cabin door width to 38″ (a 50% increase).
The door facilitates the loading and unloading of patients on stretchers and bulky medical or special mission equipment, and is an ideal choice for air ambulance, special mission, charter, and cargo operations.
The door and frame assembly is ruggedly constructed and reinforced with heavy-gauge conventional materials, and the top-hinged design allows clear access during loading and unloading. The door is secured by a shoot-bolt latching mechanism that can only be operated when the Airstair door is extended, which provides an additional safety factor in flight.
The King Air Cargo & Airstair door is manufactured by Hawker Beechcraft Corporation and operates exactly like the factory option. Avcon installs the door on customer aircraft using an FAA approved STC developed specifically for this modification.
The 52″ by 52″ Cargo Door is top-hinged and held open with gas springs. When extended, it allows fork lifts or other loading equipment to operate around the aircraft without interference. The Airstair is a door-within-a-door, and operates normally when the cargo door is closed. Passengers board the aircraft in style, never realizing that the aircraft is quickly convertible to freight.
The combination Cargo & Airstair Door provides unrestricted access for loading of bulky cargo or packages, including palletized freight. The door is also ideal for air ambulance, providing easy loading of stretcher patients, incubators or bulky medical equipment.
